THE VISION GROUP
From: Mary Brooke Casad
Director of Mission
North Texas Conference, United Methodist Church

Date: Febuary 23, 2001

Last week, I asked the North Texas Conference Cabinet if they wanted to continue offering the"Vision and Values" workshops to twelve churches per year, as we have done for the past two years. The response was overwhelmingly YES!

The cabinet was unanimous in their positive remarks: "It's made a tremendous difference in these churches!" "This is one of the best things we can do for our local churches!" "The wisest investment we can make!" "Yes, please continue....I have churches waiting in line!"

These responses are in keeping with the enthusiastic comments I have heard from clergy and laity whose churches have participated in "Vision and Values" workshops. Additionally , I know from first-hand experience the transformation my own local church has undergone since our Vision and Values workshop in September 1999..and we are still working the plan!
So I am pleased to be able to, for the third year, contract with you for twelve Vision and Values workshops for North Texas churches (two per district) plus an additional district or conference workshop.

Our Annual Conference is truly blessed to have such a gifted firm who are committed to strong local churches, and have developed a strategic, long -rage planning process for churches that works!

Thank you for all that you do for Christ and His Church!

Blessings,
Mary Brooke Casad

Sunday, after your final report, was the the most exciting Sunday at First Church that I have been a part of in a long time....You truly inspired the group and gave us a NEW HOPE AND VISION that was not just an emotional "mountain top" experience but "nuts and bolts" that will restore and build "old" First Church in the months and years ahead.

I enthusiastically recommend theVISION AND VALUES weekend to any church that is serious about developing and owning a vision that will make a real difference for that church and the community it serves.

I have always felt that the true value of a any new program, workshop, etc., in the local church can best be measured after the passage of a reasonable amount of time. When the emotionalism and enthusiasm dies down the real question is,"Has the congregation truly been helped?"
There has been continual evidences of the good that has come out of Vision and Values.
The workshop set the stage for healing to come in our church. They realized and acknowledged they had not handled conflict well in the past. Thanks to the workshop, we have learned ways to handle conflict more appropriately.

The above has been an effort to express my appreciation for your ministry. We have been blessed . I heartily recommend the Vision and Values Workshop because of its lasting impact on our conregation.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carroll A. Caddell

I simply wanted wanted to write you a short note to tell you how grateful all of us at Trinity United Methodist Church are for your direction and leadership. Because of you, we are in a position to achieve extraordinary things that at one time only seem to be distant dreams. I appreciate so very much the approach you took in connecting with our committee. I have heard nothing but enthusiastic praise for your leadership. You were a blessing to this congregation.
