Dr. Don Renshaw has served for over 40 years in many capacities in the Central and North Texas conference of the United Methodist Church. An experienced pastor and former District Superintendent, Don has also served as Vice-President and Senior Development Officer for the Methodist Hospitals of Dallas Foundation. His record of fund raising and financial planning is outstanding. Don brings experience in the ways and means of charitable giving.
Don's diverse pastoral experience has included many types of congregations and churches. He was the founding pastor of a congregation in a rapidly growing area of Southwest Fort Worth. He has also served as senior pastor from county seat parishes to large urban churches in the Dallas area. He has previously served as Chairperson of the North Texas Annual Conference Council on Ministeries and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Lydia Patterson Institute, a United Methodist educational institute in El Paso,Texas. Don was also the District Superintendent of the Paris-Sulphur Springs District of the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. In each of these appointments, significant growth in membership and financial development is a matter of record.
Don's leadership in the United Methodist Church was affirmed in his selection as a delegate to the Jurisdictional Conferences in 1984, 1988 and 1992, and his election as a delegate to the General Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1984.
Don is a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, and holds a Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is a certified Church Growth Consultant through the Board of Discipleship of the United Methodist Church.
